Dell Inspiron 6000 the modem apparently went out. Anytime you try to dial into ISP the blue sdreen of death comes up. If you uninstall the modem and re-install the BSD comes up. Anytime you access the modem you get the BSD. I ordered a new modem same exact model RD02 D110 when I physically put it in the computer and started it up it didnt recognize that it had a modem. Loading drivers or doing a new hardware search did no good. Put the old one back in and it instantly recognized it but when I tried to reinstall got the BSD, put the new one back in and it wouldnt recognize that it had a modem. Sent the new modem back told them it was defective they sent me another one and the same thing happened the computer will not recognize that it has a modem but when I put the old one back in it finds it immediately so I know I'm installing the new one correctly.
Can someone help me please dont really know too much about laptops although I have worked on quite a few desktops is there something I should do that I dont know about?
