I'm looking to upgrade the memory in my old inspirion 3500 laptop. It currently has 64mb of ram. It takes 144 pin so-dimm pc66. Will pc133 or pc100 be backward compatible with pc66? Also i looked up specs for my laptop and it said it would support up to 256mb. Does this mean 2x128mb or would 1x256mb work? Right now I'm thinking of just getting a 128mb chip to add to the current 64mb.

Dell's are pretty particular. See what crucial.com has to say about this to avoid wasting some $$$$

You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users
