laptop keyboard

Specs: windows xp, 512mb

The a key on my laptop keyboard doesn't seem to be working so well...I have to press it quite hard for it to work, and it feels really stiff. I think there might be something underneath it causing it to jam. Is there anything I can do myself to try and fix the key?

is it under a service plan? dell is realy good at geeting partsand a techout to fix t for you if so.
if not then you can try to pcarefully pop the key off do not force as some dell machines have keyboards that you cannot simply pop the key out
if you need to order another keyboard
they are easy to replace
the screws are almost always marked with a "k" for keyboard a "p" for palmrest and an "m" or a "b" for the main board
in most cases you will have to remove the bezel (the part that houses the power button) with a small flathead screwdriver this all depends on how old the laptop is and what model
