Ok I seriously am at a complete loss here. Last night I
was using my iPod touch on my computer through iTunes
and everything seemed to be working fine. Then all of a
sudden when I went to reconnect the iPod to my laptop
the screen cua GED to all wierd white srtipes and
obviously the computer locked up like this. After hard
restarting the laptop it turned on, but the screen stayed
pitch black, as in I don't believe it was even on at all. After
a good 10 minutes of trying to get it to to turn the screen
on to no avail, I went online on my iPod to see if there
was a remedy to this issue. Apparently there was; if you
remove all power sources from the laptop and hold down
the power buttonnl for 60 seconds it'll get your screen
working again. Much to my surprise this actually did work.
With my screen back on I got to my desktop when I
realized my mouse wasn't working and the cursor was
stuck in the dead center of thescreen. I then tried to use
my keyboard to select thins when I reslized they keyboard
was just as unresponsive, to the point in which the caps
lock light does not turn on,and I can't even press F2 to get
into the setup when I first power the computer up. Thinking
I could use my USB Mouse to navigate and at least use
the onscreen keyboard, I plugged it in to see the USB
ports were not working either.I have a lot of stuff on this laptop an sincerely hope
someone can help me out on this situation as I'm on a
rather tight budget right now and can't afford new parts or
a new laptop right now. Thanks a lot for any help you can give!

I have the same problem with a acer aspire 3650. I have connected a external keyboard and mouse but it don't work. I have trying to boot from a CD but I can't change the boot order (F2 don't work). At this moment, I don't find a solution. I suspect that this problem is coming from a virus.

I seriously doubt a virus in either case. But a messed up BIOS, maybe.
Both of you need to find how to reset the BIOS to the defaults. (Usually a pin setting on the mb or removing the battery for a certain period of time, like two minutes.)
Check your respective manuals for a reset procedure and try again.

I don't think my issue is due to a virus as this all started
after I plugged In my iPod touch, and everything I've
downloaded onto it has come directly from iTunes.P.S.-I've had to do all the typing on here on my iPod so I apologize for any wierd spelling errors.
