Hi,
I have a Toshiba 4090XCDT with a Celeron 400mhz and 192mb ram. The ram is maxed out... is it possible to upgrade the cpu? it also has a 6gb hard drive... would it support a bigger one? and if so... how large?
Finally... which linux OS would you put on it and why?
Thanks!
Regards, Mortagen

Very much doubt you can upgrade that old clunker, even the hard drive may max at 8GB.
Try either PuppyLinux or DamnSmallLinux bith run well on the specs of your lappy.

Yeah i was thinking along the lines of DSL... so i cannot upgrade it? I might try it with my mate's hdd incase... its 100 or 120. I can't do it anytime soon though so yeah...
Thanks!

Processor upgrade may be possible. Chipset is the same 440 BX, used on my 750mhz Celeron in a Satellite Pro4300. suspect it depends on the socket on your mobo, and possible Bios upgrade. There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
