I HAVE A IBM 2635 380Z LAPTOP I REPLACED THE BATTERY NOW I GET THIS 1 LONG BEEP THEN NOTHING PLEASE HELP BERNADETTE HEARN

You say you replaced it, do you mean with a new or "refurbished" battery, or just on that you recharged? In other words, is this a battery that is "new" to you, or one that you have used bofore, and just recharged? My old 380xd (rest its soul, house fire) would run with just the power supply connected, and NO BATTERY in the battery box. I'd try that first. If it seems to be a battery problem, warranty? Did you buy it from IBM or at least a legit IBM label? Is it a cheapo rebuilt? If nothing works, I'd try to simplify the problem--my standard technique--to elimanate as many variables as possible. So--remove the hard drive, the battery,and try to boot the machine with only the power supply connected. If that doesn't work, try to find or borrow another "good" battery. If THAT doesn't work, then I'm just not sure. The "new" battery probably blew something up.
