Laptop HDD failure immenent type message after using DBAN

Specs: Linux i686, p4
nag screen for HDD problem; example 1
I've used DBAN Darik's Boot and Nuke to wipe my laptop HDD several times

Now I am getting HDD failure messages

The computer died and the computer shop just turned it back on

the error message is still coming up

I think that the HDD might be OK

it is something else like the

MBR is messed up?????

i don't know

Download health check program for your hard drive from the manufacturers homepage and check the hdd with it.

I agree the drive fitness test should tell the story.

I am curious as to why you felt the need to use such a drastic utility several times? That program is most useful when disposing of the hard drive.

This is how I was taught to troubleshoot;

it is a form of inefficient technical overkill --
remove defective unit
replace defective unit

get defective part fixed as an isolated unit

that is what i get for using what i learned on construction and electromechanical internships on my computers

i forgot the cardinal rule of fixing things;

if it ain't broke don't fix it
