Laptop Hard Drive Not Detected

April 2, 2016 at 22:07:03
Specs: Windows 10, iCore 5, 2.5 Ghz/ 4 GB
I purchased a new HDD a week ago for my laptop. The HDD worked brilliantly for a week but then stopped functioning. Presently, the BIOS does not detect it during BOOT. Here is what I have tried so far:

1. Checked the laptop motherboard with the old HDD and it works fine.
2. Checked my new HDD on a desktop PC and the PC cannot detect it.

Is there a way I can get it to work or should I get it replaced ?

It's new, and doesn't work... Seek/obtain a replacement under warranty.

Agreed. If it doesn't detect on either machine, and the old one is still recognized, the likelihood that the new one being bad is pretty high. Return it for a warranty replacement.

It certainly appears the new HDD is bad. What was wrong with the old one?

Yes, new devices can most certainly fail so return it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
