Hi.
My in-laws have a compaq presario 1247 laptop with a 3GB or so hard drive and want to upgrade it. I looked it up and it says the existing hard drive is IDE and "2.5 form factor". The pc is about five years old. Can anyone point me to a drive that would be an example of this type? I just want to confirm what it looks like before I go ordering a new one. Would the ones that say "9mm" work? Thanks Much!

You mean 9.5MM. That is the height of the drive. They are 2 1/2" platters. Before you order a harddrive, make sure that the BIOS of the computer can handle the drive you are considering.
