I have a Compaq LTE 5250 that i have just purchased from ebay. It will be used only for internet and word processing. Upon recieving this piece of equipment, it hung on boot. It seemed to go through the Ram Check fine, but it "froze" at <F10> to enter Computer Setup. I cant reach the bios because hitting F10 does nothing. I cant turn it off from the power switch, because once again, that does nothing. I've tried letting the battery drain, i've tried taking the long cylindrical AAA looking battery out (hoping it was the cmos battery) and i've tried booting straight from a floppy.. None of wich work. I'm hoping for some kind of explanation. Any would be appreciated!

Have you had communication with the person you bought it from?

Yes sir, he assures me that it was working when shipped. He also said if i cant get it figured out in a few days, he would be more than happy to talk about a return or exchange!

About the only thing I could suggest is for you to see if any of the memory is removable and if it has become dislodged.
