Specs: Windows 7
starts out charging & will give correct % remaining, then it will quite charging & give a false % remaining.

Example: when charging it may say 90% charged.
then once it stops charging or you unplug power cord then plug back in it says 0% charged.

Not easy to trouble shoot without at least a known good battery. It may be either the battery, motherboard(daughter-board) or ac adapter.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

I was wonder the same thing. Although the laptop is just about a month shy from a year old. You would think the battery would last longer. Hopefully it is the battery & not somthing more serious.
Thanks for your input.

When was the last time you ran through a charge/discharge cycle? A battery left charging may give false readings depending upon the circuitry.

Well never since I have no idea what your talking about. My husband may know. I will check with him later tonight. Sorry I dont know a whole about computers. My guess is letting it run completely dead then recharge?

Yes, run the computer until the battery is almost completely discharged then recharge.
