Hi, my laptop has started freezing randomly after 1-20 minutes of use, and I need to unplug it and take the battery out to turn it off. I've tried holding the power button but it won't turn off the screen just stays frozen.
Once its off I have to wait an hour or so before it will turn back on, and this repeats until I want to throw it across the room.
I'm guessing my battery has worn out?
But I started my laptop with just the adapter (this only worked once) and I had the same problem of freezing unfortunately.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
Suggestions or questions?

Might start with event logs or dump logs.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

"But I started my laptop with just the adapter (this only worked once) and I had the same problem of freezing unfortunately"
Then how could this possibly be related to a battery issue?
Take a can of compressed air and blow it through the vents, this could be an overheating issue.

I checked event logs, nothing bad there. I also cleaned out the air vents, but it still freezes. any other ideas guys?
Also i thought i would make note of this, i just got a blue screen that said "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
Technical information:
*** STOP : 0x0000000A (0x08740A51,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x80545B09)

I've been trying to get on the laptop to retrieve some files before i reformat, but now I keep getting blue screens.
Is a reformat going to help or should I just take it to a shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
