laptop display area shrunk 50% black border

July 3, 2015 at 08:49:43
Specs: Windows XP
Dell Latitude D620 laptop w/ XP Pro, all SPs

no external monitor

Mobile Intel 945Gm Express chipset on graphics

appears to have upped the res (everything is really teensy, 'tho it says 1024 x 768, 32 bit, which is what I thought it started with)

Will reverted to last good config fix this?

Last good config would seem worthwhile, or even System Restore.

However, this won't help if you have a hardware fault. If you can try an external monitor that would be the best first step, just in case it is a screen fault.

The resolution should match your screen, although if this is wrong it doesn't usually produce borders.

Also let us know if any errors show in "Device Manager > Display Adapters".

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
