I searched the forums first to see i can find an answer to my question.. and none the threads thus far seemed to help.. so.. heres teh situation iam inMy Sony Vaio Laptop has a cracked screen, at first i was able to connect my Sony Vaio to an external Monitor via the vga port and still be bale to use my laptop...
But due to some incident.. I had to reinstall windows xp professional on there and for soem reason.. my laptop wont display teh screen anymore...to teh external monitor
so i reinstalled windows xp and everything.. I turn ony my laptop.. and I see the windows xp load screen on my external monitor but then after words.. my external monitor jsut shuts off
(i still have my laptops volume on so i can here like that windows xp setup music..)
you know.. the screens that ussually show up.. after you've installed windows xp os and it goes through that isntallation process of setting up and configuring your computer.. (user names.. how will it connect to the internet etc)
I know its displaying that.. jsut it will not show it on the external monitor.. after it displays teh windows xp loading screen once i turn it on.. the monitor.. just goes black
So iam inquiring if theres anythign i can do to fix this..

Most laptops have a "hotkey" combination to toggle through the internal/external monitor combinations (usually 3-5 options to toggle through.) This usually involves holding down a function key and pressing another key. Have you tried looking for this and toggling through the different modes?

Yes I have Tried that, for my sony vaio laptop its the Hold Fn-key then F7-key, it still does not toggle... (I know that this worked.. but it only seemed to work.. only after i logged in..) and doesnt seem to help me in the situation iam in..)
