I'm not sure why you downloaded Windows 7 setup and Mini partitions. You most likely damaged the partition the OS was on by playing with the mini partition program. Also, you cannot download a legitimate copy of Windows 7 from just any old site, it's anybody's guess as to what it really was or what it did to your computer.

If all you needed was a driver, all you should have done is go to the manufacture's website and get the driver from them.

At this point, I would locate your recovery CD's and start with a fresh install. If the recovery software is on a hidden partition on your hard drive, hopefully you didn't damage it with mini partitions. Follow the instruction manual that came with your computer on how to restore your computer. If it is an HP, they come with recovery discs.

You may have also done internal damage when you sat on your computer. It might be best to take it to a repair shop and have them inspect for internal damage. It might be best to have them install the operating system as well.

"We have downloaded reboots from hp and a another windows 7 disc"

That makes no sense at all. Reboot means restart your computer, you don't download reboots. So what exactly did you download from HP or a Windows disc and what did you do with it?

Okay, the laptop stated it needed a new driver for windows, also new mini partitions. We then downloaded windows 7 setup and mini partitions from another sight. I hope that clears up any confusion.

If you have physically damaged your computer no amount of tinkering with drivers or software will fix it. When you have a hardware issue often the MS software is unable to interpret it properly so you get misleading error messages.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
