What is the best CPU for performance and overall usage for a laptop. I'm not sure which has the better CPU out for laptops at the moment, AMD or Intel. I do not know how to go about choosing the right one for me.
I don't plan on using this for gaming, and if I do, there will be minimal game play on it.
I'm looking for something under a $1,000 with a 14.1" screen or smaller. If anyone has any websites or feedback they can give me that would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is if you have XP or Linux/Solaris/BSD almost any newer laptop would do fine. I think I spend $800 on a 3G intel toshiba and it is just fine. As with all laptops you understand that they are made to be portable and not fast as such.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
