Laptop broken need help

Specs: Windows XP
hi i have a compaq presario v6000 and have
checked the whole internet for a solution but
its only confused me more.ok so i bought the
laptop faulty it would only startup sometimes
like you would have to turn it on and of until it
finaly would boot then when it was going it
would go fine for ages but you turn off and the
same problem.then one day i played a game
on it for like four hours and turned it off and
from then on it hasnt turned on. i mean lights
and stuff will come on harddrive light flashes
and can hear fan but absoulutely nothing on
screen if you leave it. it will restart itself after
about 20 seconds and continue to keep
restarting after 20 seconds,now i have
checked just about everything i even took it
apart but motherboard looks fine ,and i have
come to a conclusion that its the ram but i am
unsure can someone please help

Based on your poor explanation, I can't tell you what's wrong, but I can almost guarantee that it's not the RAM. Try blowing the dust out of the cooling vents.

Sounds like there might be a faulty connection, e.g. broken wire, possibly in the cord.

Shine a bright light on the Screen, if you can see the Desktop Image the Computer is Booting OK but the Back Light or Inverter, or Both have failed.

Contact HP/Compaq for problems associated with your Model #. I seem to recal a video issue with the 6000 series LTs. Of course my memory could be faulty but it won't hurt to check.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

ok yea i have tried shining light but i cant see anything on screen
at all
