I have just bought a bare laptop DVD/CDRW combo drive to fit into my Packard Bell Easy One 1550 laptop. When the drive is inserted, the BIOS won't recognise it. Have tried flashing the BIOS, but it still won't recognise the drive. The drive is correctly connected as it powers up, it just wont be recognised in the BIOS.
Any ideas what the problem is / what I need to do to fix it? Please tell me I haven't wasted £60!
