Depends entirely on your preference and your "Requirements."

In other words... just about any medium priced laptop will do ya.

This kind of question is nothing but a matter of preference. Just go down to one of these stores that has a little bit of everthing and spend the next 2 hours playing with them... You know better than any one else what you like.

I have never found a laptop built as well and as stable as an IBM. That includes Dell, Compaq, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Sony, etc. Of course IBM's are tad more expensive.

Couldnt agree more on IBM but, now theat they are Lenovo, it might change. I'd get one quickly if you plan to before they start changing alot about them.

I've always like Thinkpad's, and I believe that so far Lenovo are still making them the same. After all, Lenovo have actually been the manufacturer for quite some time, it's only the badge that has changed, so far...

People I know have also been pleased with Toshiba.
