It is our understanding that Sony installs software on some laptops to prevent the use of aftermarket batteries. Simply removing a program from the "Startup" typically fixes this issue.

1) Please go to start menu --> choose "RUN" (near bottom of the right column), and then type "msconfig" in the input box, and click "OK".

2) A window will pop up. Simply choose the tab "Startup" and uncheck "ISBMgr" ( in some laptop model, it is listed as ISB Utilities" and then click"OK"

3) Restart your computer. You will see a pop-up message "System Configuration Utility" Click in the little box "Dont show this message...". Then click "OK"

4) You should be able to use your new laptop battery with no further difficulty.
