Model/Manufacturer: hp omnibook 6000

so i got an old HP Omnibook 6000, and it will charge up my battery fine all the way (i can check the level on the battery itself to verify)

but if i unplug the ac power, the laptop shuts right off even though the battery is in the slot and is detected by the computer...

Might be time for a new battery, as there are 2 things it needs to deliver and they are volts and amps, charging a battery may display a large amount of volts but if the battery can no longer store the amps there will be none available to run the equipment, looks like you need to have it "Load Tested"
