Specs: Windows XP
my laptop says it takes 3.16 A max if I use a 3.34 A will it hurt my battery on my laptop?

Amperage is the flow of electricity. It is what the laptop will draw as a maximum. If the adapter is capable of supplying more then it will just be an available potential that is not used. BUT there are other considerations that MAY effect your laptop and/or battery: Voltage (needs to be in the correct range) and polarity (if the plug is wired incorrectly and DC is supplied then reversing the polarity can do damage). It is best to use power adapter made by your laptop manufacturer if possible or at least made by a reputable company for your laptop.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
