I've been thinking to buy a laptop PC sometime soon. I know those intel-based mobile don't support 64bit os so I am considering to get AMD Turion driven laptop, but only HP(among major brand) offers turion-based laptop.
Would that be wise to buy an intel-based laptop without 64bit support? Or should I go with Turion-based laptop(namely HP)?

IMHO The main contention with M$64bit seems to be the lack of hardware drivers, hence, if you're buying a 64bit laptop you won't have that problem as upgrades aren't a feasable proposition. Also, if you're buying a laptop you're not interested in power stuff thus 64bit is a bit pointless so I'd say stick with a decent Intel laptop & save the 64bit 'experience???' for a desktop.
"I know that I'm mad, I've always been mad"

I agree with that. I use only AMD for desktops, but Intels are best for laptops.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

Put it this way if you are planning to have this laptop for 3 or more years get a 64bit processor, because by then 64bit programs will become more poplular then they are now.
I don't know where 64bit has to do with powerful stuff in the first statement, because 64bit processors are faster in terms of computing info then 32bit processors are.
HP isn't the only company to offer turions. Gateway does as well.
