Subject: L7VTA Mo Board and no Sound?? OS: WinME CPU/Ram: Duron/512 DDR
|
Comment: Just picked upi a L7VTA and got a 1 Gig Duron. I got everything to work except the onboard sound. Its AC97, but my book doesnt say which set of drivers to use from the CD. Anyway, I use the CD that came with the mobo, and it loads the drivers fine, and in control panel it says no problem, but when I go to volume control (audio), everything is greyed out, and they all say no device installed?? I have been to the BIOS ad made sure on board sound was enabled. I even updated my BIOS, and still the same thing. So it seems like Wondows is seeing it, but not using it?? I even removed anything, and then it it automatically came up on start up and loaded it into windows as a sound card?? Any help would be appreciated... Curt

Reply: (edit)hello go look indevice manager under sound and try installing the drivers from there. allso some mobo,s have a jumper to enable-disable onboard sound look in mobo manual and see if you jumper is set to enable. allso this sounds like its just not installing drivers but try these things.

Reply: (edit)I tried that...it keeps saying its a Relteck AC97 sound card. It says there is no problems with the drivers, and still doesnt show up when in control panel/sounds/as a device. I disabled it in CMOS and deleted everything I could find, and then enabled it again, and it called it reltek again and still is not there, even though it shows up in device manager
