Get a new keyboard first. Then get a new kvm.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

I knew the keyboard and mouse where fine, I was able to determine that the KVM switch was intermittent.

I replaced the KVM switch with an Adder AV4PRO-VGA-USA. I believe this is the best KVM switch I have ever purchased. I have only had the KVM switch for a few days but it’s just solid. No funny key pressed issues. No USB re-enumeration when switching. The Video display looks great. You can program different keys for selecting which computer to route to the main keyboard, video display, and mouse. The change is instant and smooth; I did not notice any readjustment of the display when I switch from computers displaying different resolutions. If you leave the mouse pointer in portion of the screen that’s where it is when you return to a computer. Also there is a built in USB host (2 USB ports) which can be switched from computer to computer or be programmed to stay connected to a particular computer. The Adder KVM comes with a firmware update kit. It comes with an external supply, and does not draw its operating power from the VGA and/or the computer’s usb ports. When the power is removed the KVM is issued a hardware reset. With other KVMs since they draw their power from the USB ports it’s not clear how you would ever reset them or where their power is truly being source from. I highly recommend the Adder AV4PRO-VGA-USA KVM.
