Keyboard typing problem...

Janna January 29, 2009 at 08:35:08
Specs: Windows Vista

This started happening yesterday.

Sometimes when I type, my text gets selected in the middle of typing and deletes.

Also, it sometimes minimizes the window I'm typing in... which makes me angry cause I have to click back and keep typing.

And lastly, sometimes in the middle of typing the typing cursor thing jumps to the middle of the sentence and types from there. For example.. say I was typing "My new cat's name is Fluffy..." after the "is" or some other random part of the sentence, while I'm typing Fluffy, the typing would jump to say... after "new". SO it'd become "My newFluffy cat's name is".

Anyone know what's wrong?

Hi, sorry I can't give you an answer but I can sympathise. My lap does this as well. So does my last laptop which I thought was becasue the old one was just a bit flakey. The fact that my current one does it as well does wind me up, however it never does it when using a separate keyboard which I do 95% of the time so I put up with it. However I wish I could find a solution too. Regards Stephen

You can try popping some of the keys out. Usually if a window minimizes you may have hit the windows key + m or d so you might want to check those keys. When you type do you ever hit the touch pad or anything? That happens to me sometimes.
