Specs: Windows XP
Hi. After I system-restored, the keyboard stopped working. Nothing wrong with the keyboard, it works just fine on other PC's. I tried different working keyboards also.

It works while the XP is booting. I mean, you can press delete or F8 and it works on the BIOS settings screen, but when the login screen comes, it's just paralyzed. By the way, I manage to get past the login screen. It doesn't ask for passwords anymore. So, I can use my mouse.

For example, the NumLock light gets stuck lit. You can't toggle that off or you can't get the caps lock light on either.

I tried the restore function of the XP CD. I typed chkdsk c: /p and fixboot, hoping it would fix some boot error but to no awail. Are there any keyboard loading files that I can restore?

By the way, I read a locked post about a very similar problem which was:
And honestly I don't believe the problem should be PSU and power related.

Is there likely to be a quick fix? Because I'm about to format C: and reinstall Windows.

Yes, I had a half-cocked attempt to repair. I guess I would better try with a better preparation. I mean, I didn't know what I was doing.
