Im having an issue with my keyboard. i will be typing, then all of a sudden the keyboard stops responding, whatever program im in, the top of the screen goes gray, I have to wait about a minute and then it comes back, or I have to use the mouse and click where I left off. I changed keyboards, still the same issue. I did a virus scan with F-Secure, and found nothing, any suggestions? Thanks

Did this just start happening? Have you installed any new programs lately? Have you installed any new Devices lately? Are you running an updated Virus scan? Do you use Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy? If so are they updated? Could be either a program running in the background, The INTERNET running, A weak or bad PSU, loose or bad memory or a dirty case. Lots of things can cause this. Check all connections and the ram first. Then clean the case out with a can of air second. Narrow it down by running all the above named programs updated third.

All good advice from Lefty. But I'm inclined to suspect a video adapter problem because of the "the top of the screen goes gray".
I think I would try reseating the video card (if it is a card) or swapping it out.

I think by "top of the screen goes gray", the person may mean the focus is not on the window anymore.

What kind of keyboard and mouse devices?? USB, PS/2, infra-red, RF devices??

How are they hooked up to computer. straight in, Y-cable, KVM switch??
