I cant figure it out. Sometimes when i press a key on my keyboard the letter doesn't come out and my computer "beeps".
Its working fine right now, but for how long, who knows? It'll probably go back. Im not sure if there are any drivers for this.
Windows installs the basic Standard 101-102 Keyboard Driver. Its an old packard bell keyboard. Its so old the keyboard has a sticker that says "To reduce strain, select an enviroment where you can work comfotably etc . . . ". Model #= FDA-105IA
Even the keyboard say Control instead of Ctrl! and it has a FN/Menu button right of the printscreen/scrollock/pausebreak buttons.

Anyone have any ideas?

Check the cable and connector on the back. Sounds like there could be a voltage problem to the keyboard. Its also possible it could be Spyware or a keyboard monitor program loaded on your machine causing a problem. Get AD-Aware_v6 if you have not done so already and check for this kind of junk software. Might just fix the problem.

nope, thats not it.
I unplugged my cd drive and diskette drive and a hard drive.
Still gots the problem, no spy ware either because its a recently formatted computer.
Didn't even surf on the net on it.
Don't think its the connector either, i checked and they seem to be fine.

It is probably an intermittent short in the keyboard. The easiest way to check would be to get a new one. You can get them on sale for less than $10.00.

If the new one never has a problem, it was the keyboard. If a new one does have a problem, it could be a port or mb problem.

trust me you don't really want a lower than $10 keyboard... they suck...I got one and it quit on me in less than 3 months.... although I only bought a $14 one after that but it's great... logitech.... good brand next to microsoft..
