April 24, 2011 at 10:26:23
Specs: Vista 32 bit, Dual Core.1.7, 3 Ram
While I am typing , the cursor will suddenly jump back up to a dozen lines
and the typing will continue in the middle of the existing text. A similar occurence,
is that while typing ,the last five lines or so of text will be spontaneously deleted.

The keyboard is going bad. Even if you soft touch type, the same errors may be there. The internal key contact points are very close together to begin with. With use the flexability of each keyswitch is deminished. Just typing can warp the board enough to cause a key stroke or multiple key strokes. I've seen keyboards do that with no one touching the unit. Random(?) key presses. They can be disassembled, cleaned, and reused on occasion.

Try plugging in a desktop keyboard to the USB port. If it solves the problem, replace the keyboard on the laptop.

Thank you so much for the advice.....will do as you propose...attach an external keyboard, and take it from there.
