I just bought a ECS K7S5A Pro Motherboard and AMD Athlon XP 2400+ CPU ... everything works fine, I even cleared my cmos so whenever I start the computer I get this

CMOS Memory Size Wrong

Press F1 to Run SETUP
Press F2 to load default values and continue

... and my keyboard doesnt work and if I change the keyboard plug into the mouse plug it says

CMOS Settings Wrong
CMOS Memory Size Wrong

Keyboard

Press F1 to Run SETUP
Press F2 to load default values and continue

... I tried my other 2 keyboard and still dont work.. but I know that all of my keyboards are working....

Hi,

Does your keyboard have an F Lock key? If so, while the system is booting, try hitting it and then see if your Function Keys work.

Thats how my keyboard is.

If it's an office keyboard (microsoft office) then it may have an Office Lock, same thing as an F lock, make sure it's off.

Are all of the keyboards USB? If they are then the problem is that the BIOS is not set to recognize a USB one during the boot process until Windows takes over and activates the USB function. You need a cheap ps2 keyboard and plug it in long enough to change the settings. What you need to do is make sure that USB compatibility is set to "Legacy" so that the keyboard will detect all of the time. The reason the connectors are lableled "keyboard" "mouse" is that only those devices will work in those ports. You can't connect a mouse in the keyboard or a keyboard in the mouse and expect it to work. It won't happen. If the keyboards are PS2 and none of them work then the port on the motherboard is probably bad.
