keyboard is not detecting

hello

my problem is :

I was having win98 in one system. few days back I tried to install windows 2000 in that.

first i tried upgradation, while installing it was unable to detect the Keyboard.

and then I formatted and installed the fresh copy, then also it was unable to detect the keyboard.

Then i tried with good keyboard (working with win2000 operating system). Then also it was unable to detect the keyboard.

Then I removed and reinstalled the win89 and it is working.

The problem is The Motherboard is not able to detect the keyboard with windows2000 operating system.

what could be problem ?

can any body help me ?

Are you using USB keyboards?

No I am not using USB Keyboard

It is normal keyboard
