ok, i got a pretty bad prob
im trying to run my old p2 400 on a elitegroup p6bx-a+ but for some reason it aint reading my keyboard at post.
the post looks like this:

"Keyboard error or no keyboard present
CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded"

i've tried using other keyboards and resetting cmos (by jumpers and by removing the battery). still no go.

i know some will suggest a new battery but i doubt that will fix the prob (im gonna attempt it anyways).
i just wanted to know if someone out there knows how to fix this problem. any help would be greatly appreciated.

by the way, the lights never blink on the keyboard.

It seems the keyboard doesn't power up.
Since you tried several keyboards. Then
probably the keyboard port is bad. If you
know how, check the voltage on the keyboard
port. If there is no voltage, there might
have been a previous short that blew the
fuse (if there is one). The fuse is soldered
in and either appears as a resistor (either
surface or lead mount).
