i have 2 computers at home... one of it has a "keyboard error"... i've checked with both keyboards - and also a 3rd one from my friend, but it still says "keyboard error"... so i think my motherboard - at least my keyboard controller was damaged...

the "keyboard error" makes it impossible to enter bios setup - it's like when u didn't attach any keyboard at all...

so i planned to bring the motherboard to a serviceman... BUT before i did that, my other computer SUDDENLY has the same problem... this 2nd computer is a P-166, i owns it for about 5-6 years and it almost never had a problem...

the motherboard is ASUS TUSL-2C, and the other is also ASUS - but i forgot the series...

now both my computer are useless, i'm now writing from a public internet cafe, browsing the net - hoping to find an explanation...

i called my friend, he told me it probably because of a bios virus? i dont know... im pretty stressed right now :p

my computers are connected with 2 ethernet cards (crossed cable), one of the the computer has 2 ethernet and has a cable connection to the net... i used win xp - the standard xp firewall are always on... (the P-166 uses win 98)

oh... i just moved both of the computers to a room without air conditioning... the temperature in here is pretty hot... so i think it might be related? dunno...

well i dont know, *confused* tomorrow ill bring my computers to a serviceperson - who understands those "soldered part" on the motherboard... i hope he can help me...

oh btw, i apologize if theres already a post about this problem... i just found this forum from google search, dont have the time to read all the topics ;) im on an internet cafe... bye... *stressed*

If your PS/2 keyboard port is bad ,maybe you could use a USB keyboard and choose legacy setting in the bios if your computer has USB ports.Try borrowing one from a friend to check. The problem may be motherboard or keyboard including its cable. But first you could try to check the existing keyboard with a minimal setup including mouse, keyboard ,monitor and computer only.Good luck.
