I want to try and get this issue cleaned up, for some strange reason if i do a clean install of xp and install the sound drivers properly then reboot windows is unusable it crashes etc etc but if i install the drivers from the task manager then it works fine obviously i have to reinstall xp again as its unusable the 1st way round this happens with the new drivers also from the official site. this problem does not happen with 98se or win2000, it cant be the xp cd cause ive tried xp home and xp pro, but if i install all the updates then install all my drivers i can install the sound driver the proper way, now why is this? the k7s8xe is designed for xp and ive never read of any1 having this problem its not ram as i have changed the ram from pc2100 to p2700 when i upgraded and ive ran ram checking programs and no problems. So if any1 knows what this could be id be very happy to hear thanks! and ive tried different hard drives aswell. And there is nothing on the official site about this problem!

seems to be the same thing here xp2600+ @1917 mhz, radeon 9200se, 120 gb maxtor... seems to reboot very often with DDR266, and never with DDR333. Sometimes, windows says that the ATI driver crashed, sometimes it reboots.I must try several thimgs to know if it comes from the sound driver... please contact me directly to my email cause i never read forums (of course adress without _nospammy!)!!! byebye
