"JUNK" Drive for DVR

Specs: Windowx XP Pro, 516
Recently had a dish network VIP612 DVR Satellite receiver installed and the technician said I could download from the receiver to a "JUNK DRIVE" (not JUMP and not meaning "JUNK" as in garbage). I've searched with Google, Yahoo and even ask.com but can't find anything about a USB Junk Drive. He said it looked just like a flash drive and that all I had to do was plug it in to my receiver and everything on the receiver would automatically download to it then I just plugged it in to my PC and wahhlahh, everything on my DVR could be transferred to my laptop. He also said to beware buying these on Ebay as they tend to be easily damaged in the mail and that my best bet would be to go to a nearby flea market (which I did but couldn't find them anywhere in there either!). Anyone have any idea where I can purchase one of these "JUNK DRIVES" online or some links where I can go to get a better idea of what I'm looking for? Thank you!!

If this is some kind of specialized device, I've never heard of it. If they're common enough to be sold on ebay and at flea markets I think a google or ebay search would turn up some info.

However you can usually connect an external USB hard drive to the receiver's USB port to record programs:

But I don't know if you can then transfer the drive to a computer and play them.

Real men don't use AntiVirus; they just reformat
