I have a MS-6547 w/WD 40gb hd. While trying to install XP, before it can complete, I get a blue screen. What are the basic jumper settings for MS6547, and is there another problem I should be looking for?

You have not supplied enough information. Supply all the detail you can. E.g. Was there any error message on the blue screen? If so, quote it! E.g. STOP: 0X00000xx MESSAGE_WITH_UNDERLINES_BETWEEN_WORDS E.g. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL PAGE_FAULT_IN_ NON_PAGED_AREA Was this computer working fine previously? Was this hard drive working fine on this computer previously? Have you made any changes to which ram you have installed on this computer since it last worked properly? Is this a new build for you? Have you been fiddling around with connections to the mboard before this? Are you loading Windows on this hard drive for the first time, or did it have Windows loaded on it before and you're re-loading it from scratch? Were you having problems previously with this system or hard drive? If so, we need the details.. How far did you get in Setup? Did you get as far as the end of the first stage, where said it would reboot the computer in 15 seconds? Did it start the second stage? If it did, did it get to a certain stage - detecting Hardware - and then the time remaining did not change for along time? Did it ever get to where said it would reboot the computer in 15 seconds?

There are no jumpers for cpu settings. The cpu is either recognized or it isn't. The blue screen probably has nothing to do with jumpers on the mboard.
