I want to upgrade my processor from a duron to a 2000 athlon xp, my mobo is a Jetway 830ch rev 2.0, when i goto this page, http://www.jetway.com.tw/evisn/product/CPU_support/830CH20.htm
It says BOM version, and only BOM version 11 can support athlon xp's, first, what the hell does it mean? and second how do I find out my BOM version? As i dont want to go out to a store, buy an athlon then find out it doesnt work.

I believe I tried to help you with CPU support for this mobo before...
Look on top of serial port for a label (yellow?) indicating lot information. The BOM revision is shown after “V”.

They don't sell 0.18um xp's anymore. If you go to the store they will only have the 0.13um version. You may find one on ebay. The 0.18um xp is called a palomino. The 0.13um version is a tbred or barton.
If you have a Fry's Electronics in your area, they sell mobo/cpu combo deals where the mobo is practically free.
