I have two systems. I just picked up a Best Data 56K V.92 PCI modem to replace the cheap PCtel PCI modem in my backup machine. I have a Supra 56K V.90 ISA in my main system.

I know there may be some advantage to v.92 (even though my ISP doesn't support it), but is there any advantage/disadvantage of going to the PCI bus with a modem card? Does use of the ISA bus affect overall system performance?

Thanks.

Plenty of bandwith on a ISA for a modem

I second that - you have more bandwidth than necessary on the ISA bus for 56K.
