Is this cooler BUTCH enough ?

I am building a new pc and wat to know if the Tt Volcano 7+ is BEAFY enough to cool the Athlon XP 2700+ to a stable temp?

well personally i don't think it will perform as good as volcano 9 smart fan II.
volcano 9 worked good on my athlon xp processor and the temperature is stable too.

you have to be sure to put some thermal grease onto the cpu core so the temperture won't get too high..below 60C.

I'm not a big advocate of high priced HSFs...but I know a lot of people love them & feel that they're an absolute necessity. If you bought a retail CPU that came with an AMD approved HSF, I'd go with it. It'll be fine, even for mild overclocking. For the $30-50 that you'd spend on a Volcano, you could buy a couple of decent case fans & then pick up a pizza on the way home...& probably still have some cash leftover...lol!
