Hi everybody, I started to have problems with my fujitsu HDD just without any pre indicators. windows shut down, and after that I coundnot start windows. when I tried to reformated it took long time. scandisk scanned it for just one minute and gave me a message "no errors". and now even the bios coundn't see the HDD. it says not installed. that is after the format and partitions.
Is this a virus or the HDD dead? And How can you test your HDD in Dos?

Go to the Fujitsu site and see if they have diagnostic software available for download. These almost allways run from a floppy in DOS mode and most all Mfg's offer them now for free. It is usually a requirement for warranty replacement as well.
