I have an LG Flatron 915FT Plus 19 inch monitor.
It is a year old and works fine apart from one small problem.
When my system is turned on from cold I get two quarter inch black bars either side of the screen.
After several minutes my screen is normal, you do not really notice it happening because it appears to stretch out very slowly.
My screen properties are 1024 by 768 pixels which appears to be the perfect resolution for a 19 inch monitor any greater and it is hard to read.
The quality of the screen is still excellent, just this one annoyance.
Is this a bad sign?
Does anyone elses monitor act in this manner?
Thanks Les

I have seen something similar on a budget priced 19 inch monitor at work. The vendor told us that it was normal for that model and that it was a small trade-off for considerable savings. In more expensive monitors they use additional circuits to automatically compensate for expansion/shrinkage. The monitor is in use all day long and is very stable after it reaches temperature equilibreum.

Thanks for the reply, as you said mine runs perfectly after a few minutes, its just when it has been turned off for a while that I get the bands.
I was a little concerned because all reviews a year ago were saying this was one of the best 19 inch monitors, thats why I upgraded to this model.
I was afraid it was dying.
Saying all this my system that came in at over £1,500.00 a year ago looks really over priced now when looking at current specs.
Annoying aint it.
