Okay, I need your peoples advice, I have this all planned out but I want to know from you veteran computer people if it seems like a good idea, I plan to build myself a socket 939 based system but over time.. Im a teen and cannot manage money..if I see something I want I get it.. I couild never get 500 dollars to build a system so I plan to build one over time.. I want to get the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD Motherboard so I can use my radeon 9600 on it once I get a CPU and ram then over time get a PCI E card. I plan to use the DVD/CD drives on my current rig. It will take me around a year to complete it.. which I know it will be dated fromt he start.. but I plan to get a decent CPU, the CPU is the thing I plan to get last since their prices would have dropped by the time I get case, power supply, RAM, and board... Soo if anyone has any comments please state them... I looked up a review on the board, it was only slightly bellow N Force 4 boards and with its use of AGP and PCI E it seemed like the perfect board to me and I plan to get 1 gig of PC 3200 RAM, 2 sticks of 512 of course.. But yeah I want a decent machine.. Not a mega beast of doom. Lol

Find someone to manage your money. Putting your money into parts for a year is a bad idea. Most will be obsolete by the time you get to the cpu.

I agree with both the above. Either buy/build now, or save your money until you have enough & buy/build then. Buying pieces over time is NOT the way to go.

Just have your folks take some of your money and put it in a seperate account that only they can access until you're ready to get your system.

The only way I'd buy over time is to get the power supply, case, floppy, and maybe sound card now, then save till you're ready to get the other components, as the others have suggested. In oter words, but the most future-proof items first.
