My buddy is selling his computer that I've worked on a few times ... Dell Dimension 2400 with 512 MB Ram (I put in an extra 256 since it was originally 256).
The URL is available at: http://newjersey.craigslist.org/sys... or you can read the description below... Is $800 too much you think for this packaged deal?

IMO that is way too much. Look on Ebay for similar computers to establish a fair market value. Or go to the Dell site and try configuring a new computer.

I think it's worth about $600-$700.
here's my reasoning:

Similar computer, goes for $450 + shipping.
Monitor if in very good condition is worth $75-100
For the printer, there's a used one on Amazon and the asking price is $60. I honestly don't know if that's a fair price or not but we'll go with it for my example. You know how the computer has been treated (mostly) and you know where it's been and you know it's in good working order, that's worth something.
All things considered you could call $800 "fair"

New Dell with better specs and a warranty for $359. Can get a new monitor for $200 or less and a new printer for $100 or less.
I don't think $800 is a such a good deal.
