Long may mean very very long. It took Recuva 10 days to do the scan phase on a 500 GB drive

What do you mean your "computer system was reconfigured"?

By "reconfigured" I mean that the updated to a newer windows and a new e-mail server. I work in a school district and this was all done by our IT department over the summer. All of our hard drive and network files are now gone!

I only can make an assumption.

There are two ways to store a file. One is on the local computer and one is on some server file storage.

In any case, you'd have to have some technical information about how the files were stored before and then if they even exist now. They may have been backed up to some place or they might need to map a drive or allow you access to some share.

We can't tell. You have to contact your tech support. Only they would have the answer. There is no file recovery program that can help in this case.
