I was playing WOW when all of a sudden my screen became extremely pixelated and froze. I restarted my laptop and was able to surf the net but when trying to log on WOW it did the same thing. Now my laptop won't even show a display, I have tried restarting but just getting this ghosting affect on screen.

Is it my graphics card? If so, can this be replaced?

The graphics "card" on most laptops is integrated into the motherboard & can not be upgraded. Check for overheating.

I have waited for the laptop to completely cool down and when I turn it on the screen does this weird ghosting affect in black and white.

I understand that graphic cards are usually intergrated onto the mother boared on laptops but if the graphics card is bad then would I have to replace the whole mother too?

Try an external monitor to determine if it is the graphics for sure. If it is then try updating the drivers for it. Perform those steps before considering a new motherboard.

Some laptops do have a modular graphic chip that can be swapped out. These are definitely the minority.

You may be interested in this thread. Read all the posts. Seems there is a problem with that model that causes overheating, which damages components.
