No your card is working at full speed (the GPU), AGP refers to the max. data transfer bandwith possible with the system (x133MB/s wich is the max. for the PCI bus itself).

Usually you won't notice much (if any) difference between an AGP 4x and an AGP 8x system. This is because your card probably has plenty of onboard memory much faster than your main memory and also linked to your GPU through a much faster/shorter/widher bus, so driver and games programmers will try to limit the tranfer between your video card and system to the minimum. You'll notice some difference if your card onboard memory is completely full so your card will use system memory to store some data (anyway if this happens you'll notice a performance hurt in either AGP 4x or 8x systems).

Hope this helps.

I've read the differance from 4X to 8X ,would be barely noticable to the average user ! I don't remember tha exact reasoning behind this however another poster here responded to a ? simular to yours ,here is the response>
The difference between a 4x & 8x video card is negligible...here's a clip from Tom's Hardware:
"As expected, AGP 8x can safely be considered a marketing feature for now. Although it sounds impressive, it offers no real benefit for the current generation of games."

This should make you feel better about having a 4X AGP speed ! I had to install a PCI video card because my M.B. had no AGP, when I play games, the graphics are great,so count your blessings,4X AGP is nothing to sneeze at !
Sincerely Nick
