My fan on agp chip is making bazzing noises every 3 seconds... before they where louder and the fan would actually stop for a second... Is it dead? Its only been less than two years... I thought at first it was like this because I installed one more fan in to the system but disconecting it does not affect any thing... Also if I am runing agp at 4x not 8x do I need a fan?
(Do you know where in the UK I can buy a 40mm fan cheap?)
Thanks

If the fan is making noises and stopping periodicaly is is a sure sign the bearings are cracking up.

Do a search on Google, there are laods of places where you can get a 40mm Fan.

This took about two minutes to find.

4x or 8x has nothing to do with it...the GPU needs to be cooled regardless. Replace the fan ASAP or you'll end up replacing the entire card...

Are you sure its the AGP chip?. If its on the motherboard it is more likely to the Northbridge Chip. It is unlikely that on-board video will be powerful enough to warrant a seperate cooling fan.

The Northbridg Chip fan on my motherboard failed months ago (Abit KT7A-RAID) and its non the worse for it.

Hmm.. May be not AGP... The fan is working half the time and the heat sink is just worm... may be I too should forget about it? Thought I do plan to overclock...
