Problem: Desktop work area is too small. I need a bigger resolution and a bigger lcd, but I would be happy with just the bigger resolution. This would be easy if I were on a desktop but I like living the hard way. Is it possible for me to switch out an old lcd and change it for one that has a greater resolution? I'm currently @xga would love to take the leap to uxga but I'm willing to compromise to sxga+.

Why I question the obvious?
The certain model I'm trying to upgrade (pavn5000 series) does offer a sxga+ option but on an intel spec mines amd. I now the vga "cards" in these is a little different but I'm lost on much else(what's the same lcd inverter adapters???). So do many other brands and models! So I ask, what's needed for a successful upgrade? What components are tied to what? And finally, what's the worst that can happen (ex: like shorting something out)?

Truth can become lie, but if lies become truth we're in trouble. Apply this to the debates!!! I should see you in a friggin panic attack
