Is it possible to turn on usb in safe mode ?

Specs: Macintosh , 2,16 Core 2 Duo - 2,5 Go
My graphic card is dead so the only way to use my Mac is to boot in Safe Mode.

Unfortunately, in safe mode, I can access USB hard drive or pen drive.

Any solution to access them ?

(same for the sound...)

I don't know much about Macs. That said, if your graphics card was dead you wouldn't get video in safe mode either. It may be damaged and the advanced features don't work.

When in Safe Mode see if you can change the graphics card/chip to standard VGA. That way it will work in regular mode if it currently works in safe mode.

It sounds like your problem may simply be bad drivers. What led up to this problem occurring?

I actually use the VGA in safe mode... I can't access to all the web content or even the iTunes coverflow (I've got a black empty space instead) but it's better than nothing.

So, you suggest to try to start my computer in "normal mode" using the VGA chip. It sounds to be a good idea. Now, I've to find how to !

I don't think that it's a simple bad video driver... I went to the Apple costumer service and they told me that my graphic card is down. It's not possible to replace it without changing the mainboard.

When I use the computer in normal mode, weird strips or colors appears, the screen freeze. Everything in background seems to work properly.

As I stated, I don't know much about Macs. That said, you may be able to rollback the drivers to standard VGA. I don't know what good that will do you for the long haul though.

Is this a laptop or desktop? If desktop can you add a graphics card?

It's a desktop but it's not possible to change the graphic card only cause it's welded on the mainboard. You have to change them both (about 800€).

So I think I'll try to start with the VGA card if it's possible.

You can't add a card to an expansion slot then?
